We Didn't Pivot to Cannabis — This Was the Plan All Along
I'm Ashley Jelks, founder of HIGH PRIESTESS — a witchy, plant-medicine wellness company that just brought its first full cannabis line into the world.
If you've been with us since the CBD and intimacy days, you might be wondering what happened to that brand. Short answer: nothing happened. This was always the plan.
I started with CBD, sexual wellness, and hemp blends knowing full well that one day I'd have the license to bring HP fully into the cannabis space. That day is finally here. The road to get here was windy and long, but HP has never not been a witchy, plant-medicine-positive wellness company — hemp and cannabis included, from day one. Now the focus is witchy wisdom and rituals, and finally, weed too.
So however far back you go with this brand — the original lubricant, the intimacy line, or you just found us through this post — welcome, and stick around, especially if you're into the metaphysical side of things.
Since this is the first post here since that shift, it feels like the right place to tell you where the name actually came from.
I was smoking a joint one evening, trying to decide on a name for what was then our CBD and intimacy lines. I kept pulling the same tarot card The High Priestess. I looked up what she meant, and sat with the image, a woman seated, a thin veil behind her, representing hidden things revealed through our intuition. The more I thought about it, the more I reasoned that cannabis and sexual pleasure can both help us tap into worlds beyond this one, whether its post climax relaxation and clarity or consuming cannabis and experience a higher level of self-honesty, they both can serve as as bridge between the physical and metaphysical worlds, if of course, we allow them too.
So that's how the brand’s name HIGH PRIESTESS landed, and it never made sense to call this it anything else.
